Ananya’s paintings reflect the conversion of realism into abstraction, through rush of colours, masterly strokes and differing textures. In the midst of such kaleidoscope of colours and hues, human forms emerge with very different interpretive possibilities. Her paintings have the uniqueness of using various mediums, varied subjects, several styles and diverse forms. Originality, creativity, novelty and innovativeness are the hallmark. Ananya’s canvasses express the differing emotions of our daily lives – the happiness, the pain, the ecstasy and the agony. The human forms, in their varied shapes, contours and profiles, convey feelings through their eyes and postures.

Women, in their sublime beauty, their curvatures and expressive eyes, beholding God’s most attractive creation, have been exposed in most of Ananya’s creation, have been exposed in most of Ananya’s creations. The portrayal of women have been as the mother, the child, the lover and the protector – reflecting the image of ‘Shakti’ (the mother divine) or the ‘Venus’ (the Goddess of love) or the ‘mediator’ (the soul searcher towards attaining bliss).

The mistiqueness of abstraction have been brilliantly mixed with bold strokes of definiteness, which makes the viewer ponder and leaves space for imagination and interpretation of its contents. The paintings create an extraordinary vision of the inner world of Ananya, conveying elements of magic realism, surrealism, or simply a harmony of hues.
